Global Stampers May 2017: 2017 – 2019 New In-Colors Sneak Peek

Hi there,

The Global Stampers are back. We’re a week later than usual but we decided to skip our April post and switch things up a little. Our posts will now go live on the first Sunday of each month which will help us tie in better with our catalogues and promotions.

So for this month, we thought we’d give you a sneak peek at the upcoming 2017 – 2019 In-Color collection from the 2017 – 2018 Annual Catalogue releasing on 1 June 2017. Some of us will be giving you a sneak peek on the new Eastern Palace Suite. This suite is available to purchase as two exclusive bundles from 1 – 31 May 2017. Contact me if you would like to purchase the special bundle.

Here are my projects…

GSMay2017 2017-2019 In-Colors

I love making note card sets to showcase the In-Colors and thought this sentiment from the Big on Birthdays set would make a great focal sentiment. The sentiment is coloured using the individual In-Color Stampin’ Write marker & the background and stars use the contrast colours.

Let’s take a closer look at each individual colour. First we have Berry Burst…

GSMay2017 Berry Burst

The colours from left to right – Sweet Sugarplum, Berry Burst & Rich Razzleberry. Berry Burst is more of a pinky purple and really does look like fresh squeezed berry juice  🙂

Next we have Fresh Fig…

GSMay2017 Fresh Fig

The colours from left to right – Melon Mambo, Rose Red, Fresh Fig. Fresh Fig is a very deep purple but as you can see matches quite nicely with the deep pinks.

Next we have Lemon Lime Twist…

GSMay2017 Lemon Lime Twist

The colours from left to right – Pear Pizzazz, Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive. Lemon Lime Twist is a very bright neon colour & really fun to play with. I have another project further down this post using this fun colour.

Next we have Powder Pink…

GSMay2017 Powder Pink

The colours from left to right – Pink Pirouette, Powder Pink, Blushing Bride. This new pink fits perfectly in between our two existing subtle pinks & is great for those cute baby cards.

Next we have Tranquil Tide…

GSMay2017 Tranquil Tide

The colours from left to right – Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Tranquil Tide. This colour is a deep blue green that looks different when paired with a blue or green shade.

The colour combinations were courtesy of Kelly Kent from My Paper Adventures and you can see her projects made using these same colours here.

I created some cards with three of these In-Colors to show you how well they coordinate with our existing colours. So let’s take a look…

GSMAY2017 Big on Birthdays

The Big on Birthdays stamp set is definitely a hit with me. I love all the large sentiments as they fill up a card front with minimal effort, which makes for quick and easy cards  🙂

The sentiment on these cards were inked with the new In-Colors. The balloon uses the generational stamping technique and I love the random textures you get with the solid photopolymer when using this technique. It definitely makes the image look more realistic, like when a balloon reflects light.

The cards were CASED from Emma Goddard’s version which used the same sentiment but with the Balloon Adventures stamp set. I didn’t have that set but had Balloon Celebrations so used that and hand drew my balloon tails instead.  You can see her project here.

Let’s take a closer look at each colour combination. First we have Berry Burst…

GSMAY2017 Big on Birthdays Berry Burst

The card base is Real Red while the balloons are Peekaboo Peach. The Real Red brings out the pink and purple shades of the Berry Burst when viewed in different light.

Next we have Tranquil Tide…

GSMAY2017 Big on Birthdays Tranquil Tide

The card base is Bermuda Bay and the balloons are Island Indigo. The Tranquil Tide sentiment looks greener next to the Bermuda Bay cardstock. I’ll definitely be pairing it with another colour to see what it looks like.

Lastly, we have Lemon Lime Twist…

GSMAY2017 Big on Birthdays Lemon Lime Twist

The card base is Old Olive and the balloons are Real Red. I love how fun & bright this combination is and that’s really odd for me as those who know me well, know that I’m a subtles girl at heart. But guess what?! This combination is my favourite of the three!  🙂

I hope you enjoyed my projects today. Thanks for dropping by and be sure to stop by again later in the week. I’ll be posting the amazing projects by the other talented Global Stampers then.

Until next time, happy stamping!  🙂

OnStage Local April 2017 – Color Theory Suite Presentation

Hi!

I’ve been a bit slack with my posting lately and realised I best fix that with a new post. And I thought the best way to do this was to share that I had the privilege to be a Product Spotlight presenter at the recent OnStage Local in Auckland.

I was honoured & excited to have been selected to share the Color Theory suite which will be available from 1 June 2017 from the upcoming Annual Catalogue. So, I hope you’re ready for a sneak peek at some new products!  🙂

I won’t bore you with too much writing today as this will be a photo heavy post. So, let’s get right into the projects I created for this presentation.

OSAPR2017 Beginners Class

This first set of cards were designed for a beginners class to showcase two-step stamping featuring the Colorful Season stamp set & the Color Theory Designer Series Paper stack.

Here are some close-ups…

OSAPR2017 Beginners Class Thinking of You

OSAPR2017 Beginners Class You Make Me Smile

OSAPR2017 Beginners Class Just Breathe

I used the shadow stamping technique on the sentiment by using Soft Suede ink (stamped off once) for the shadow:

This next set of projects are designed for a “Fun ways to use your DSP” class. This class can be product based or as part of your regular classes/stamp clubs. The projects feature the Colorful Season stamp set, Seasonal Layers Thinlits & Color Theory DSP stack.

OSAPR2017 Fun Ways to use DSP Class

Here are some close-ups…

OSAPR2017 Fun Ways to use DSP Class Shaker

Here’s the inside of the shaker card…

OSAPR2017 Fun Ways to use DSP Class Snowflake Christmas

I heat embossed the white snowflakes onto the DSP & cut out some snowflakes using the DSP. Here’s a close-up…

OSAPR2017 Fun Ways to use DSP Class Triangle Treats

You can get 4 of these triangle treat pouches out of one sheet of 6″ x 6″ DSP. Each one fits a Hershey’s Kiss but I’m sure you could squeeze an extra one in  🙂

OSAPR2017 Fun Ways to use DSP Class Shadowbox Frame

This shadow box frame hanging is made from a single sheet of 6″ x 6″ DSP with some stamping on a sheet of Whisper White cardstock.

The last set of projects I’ll share with you is for a product based class using items from a new product line. I can’t share anymore than the images at this stage but if you’d like to find out more about it come 1 June, please sign up to my newsletter here. I can send you a copy of the upcoming catalogue closer to the time.

So here are the projects…

OSAPR2017 Product Based Class

And here are the close-ups…

OSAPR2017 Product Based Class Happy Birthday

OSAPR2017 Product Based Class Thank You So Much

OSAPR2017 Product Based Class Bring on the Snow

OSAPR2017 Product Based Class Life is a Beautiful Thing

The spider on this card was made with one of the flower stamens in the set while the spider web was made using one of the snowflake dies. Here’s a close up…

OSAPR2017 Product Based Class Life is a Beautiful Thing spider

OSAPR2017 Product Based Class Lazy Days

The chair is in the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and cuts flat. I wanted it to have more of a 3D look so I cut two of it out. Here’s the side view…

OSAPR2017 Product Based Class Lazy Days chair side view

I raised the chair with a combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals & Foam Adhesive Strips. I also gave the cushion a 3D treatment by rubbing the back of it with my Simply Scored stylus while it was on my Stampin’ Pierce Mat.

I hope you enjoyed these projects. I can’t wait for you to get your hands on these fun new products! Don’t forget to sign up to my newsletter to get a copy of the new catalogue for yourself.

Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time, happy stamping!  🙂

OnStage April 2017 Swaps

Hi everyone!

I had an amazing day at Stampin’ Up!’s latest OnStage Local event in Auckland on Saturday. I’m still buzzing from the day as I got my hot little hands on the upcoming 2017 – 2018 Annual Catalogue & saw plenty of new products in action.

I was also given the honour & privilege to present a new product suite! It was very nerve wracking but so much fun. Unfortunately, I can’t show you the samples I made for my presentation just yet.

But I can show you the swaps I made for the event. Here’s what I made…

OSAPR2017 Swaps Cool Treats Keychains

These are keychains/charms made using the Cool Treats bundle. Here’s a look at the other side…

OSAPR2017 Swaps Cool Treats Keychain back

Here’s a close up of the ice blocks…

OSAPR2017 Swaps Cool Treats Keychain close up

I used the Marbling/shaving foam technique to create the colours on my ice blocks. I used watercolour paper so the ice blocks also have a bit of texture to them.

This technique is so much fun and so easy, even a 4.5 year old can do it! Here’s my Ella helping out with wiping away the shaving foam.

OSAPR2017 Swaps in progress Ella

She had so much fun & loved the ‘magic’ of how the colour transferred from the foam to the watercolour paper. It was also fun getting inky & foamy  😀

If you’d like to know more about OnStage events & the perks of getting early access to new catalogues, please message me your questions. I can tell you more about joining Stampin’ Up! to receive these awesome perks!

I hope you enjoyed my swaps & thanks for stopping by. Until next time, happy stamping!   🙂

Global Stampers March 2017: Last chance to earn Sale-A-Bration products

Hi there,

This month, the Global Stampers have decided to showcase some projects using a range of Sale-A-Bration products as we’re in the last few days of the promotion.

Here are my projects…

GS March 2017

Let’s take a closer look at them, starting with the Pretty Pocket Card Kit found on page 19 of the Sale-A-Bration brochure…

SAB Pretty Pocket Card Kit

I made one each of the pocket cards in the Pool Party & So Saffron colours. I used one of the So Saffron cards & some  Pool Party cardstock to create a box, inspired by Debbie Henderson. This box is a great size for gifts when you wrap it in cellophane and ribbon. Or you could use it to keep cards you’ve created.

I used one of the Pool Party cards & some Pool Party Cardstock to create a reverse tri-fold card. I’ve had some comments saying that they didn’t like the way the card opened but I didn’t want to lose the pretty design on the front of the pocket card. Plus you can decorate the other side of the card too and then you’ll have a card with 2 fronts  🙂

SAB Pretty Pocket Mini Album pages

With the remaining 4 cards (2 of each colour) I created a mini album, inspired by Sigrid Joch. I decorated the pages of the mini album with the gorgeous girls from the Beautiful You set. Their dresses are paper pieced using the Succulent Gardens Designer Series Paper.

Next, let’s have a look at the project using the Reverse Words stamp set on page 3 of the second release brochure.

Reverse Words Cheers Note Cards

I used the “Cheers” sentiment and stamped directly onto our Whisper White Note Cards in all the 2016 – 2018 In-Colours. A length of ribbon, a bow & some In-Colour Enamel Shapes & you’ve got yourself a set of quick & cute thank you cards. These were created for my customer thank you cards in February.

Reverse Words Cheers Note Cards Sweet Sugarplum

Next, let’s take a look at the project using the very sparkly Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack, also found on page 3 of the second release brochure.

3D Basket with Glimmer Eggs

I made this cute Easter Treat basket for my customers at the Extravaganza event I taught at last week. The sparkly eggs were cut using the Basket Builder Framelits.

All you need to do is cut two each of the solid basket, weaving for the basket, handles & grass; one each of the egg patterns & three of the solid eggs. Then using an additional piece of crushed curry, you can create the holder. You can customise this to fit the treat you’re filling the basket with.

Here are the dimensions for my holder, which fits a chocolate marshmallow egg:

2 7/8″ x 2″ piece of Crushed Curry

  • Score on 2 7/8″ side at 7/8″ from each end
  • Score of 2″ side at 1/4″ from each end

You can also see another project I made using the Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack & the Window Box Thinlits that I shared last week here.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you were inspired by all the different Sale-A-Bration projects today. I’ll be back to share the projects by the other Global Stampers later this week so make sure you remember to check back in.

And don’t forget, you can earn a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure for every $110 you spend (before shipping). And if you choose to join Stampin’ Up! before the end of the month, you get an additional 2 FREE stamp sets of your choice on top of your starter kit. It’s a great time to spend with& join Stampin’ Up!

Until next time, happy stamping!  🙂

Sale-A-Bration Glimmer Paper Assortment Mini Note Card Tags

Hi there,

Earlier in the week I shared this sneak peek photo on my Instagram account & said that I’ll be sharing the full project later on in the week.

SAB Glimmer Paper

So here’s the finished project…

SAB Glimmer Paper Mini Note Card Tags

Everything is sooo sparkly! I think Stampin’ Up! needs to make glimmer paper in ALL their colours   🙂

I made this project as my door prize for our Annual Sale-A-Bration Extravaganza, which was held today. The sparkly window box holds 6 of these mini note card tags. There are two of each design.

Here’s a close up of them…

The sentiment for the Bermuda Bay mini note card tag is from the Custom Tee set & the one for the Mint Macaron is from Mixed Borders. The sentiment for the Sweet Sugarplum is my favourite & is from the Sale-A-Bration Designer Tee set.

These mini note card tags measure 2 1/4″ x 2 3/4″ & fit perfectly in the Window Box.

Here’s a closer look at the sparkly box…

I can assure you I was covered in glimmer by the time I was finished haha!  🙂

I love all these colours and can’t choose a favourite! I would love to know which is your favourite glimmer paper colour, so please leave me a comment with your favourite.

Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time, happy stamping!   🙂
