We’re back with another month of fun projects from the Global Stampers. This month we have a colour challenge…
I really struggled with this colour combo as these are not colours I usually work with. But that’s the whole point of this blog hop, to challenge us outside our comfort zones. It took me awhile but I got there eventually haha 😅
These are the projects I came up with after lots of wasted paper and inky fingers but I think I did good, what do you think?
Let’s take a look at the individual projects. First up is the “yay” card…
I designed this card with my downline in mind. She had promoted to Bronze Elite and I wanted to congratulate her with a card that she could CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) for her own classes.
The Layered Alphabet dies make creating customised sentiments easy. The Subtles Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder made a lovely background and still allowed the card to maintain that clean and simple feel.
Here’s a close up of the focal point…
The letters & sentiment were heat embossed in copper powder. I added some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint splatters to add more sparkle, you can never have too much sparkle! I didn’t have any trim in the right colour for this project, so I swiped my Light Blackberry Bliss Blends over some Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine for the perfect embellisment. If you want to recreate the look on this twine, be sure to swipe lightly for that two-toned look.
Next we have the Christmas Cheer note card…
I struggled the most with this card, but I’m so pleased it turned out this way. Personally I think it’s really cute & the bonus is that it was quick & easy to make (once I worked it out of course haha 😂)
Let’s have a closer look…
It’s really hard to photograph but I sprayed Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint mixed with alcohol all over the card front so it’s really pretty & sparkly in real life 😍
The background is Blackberry Bliss stamped off twice before stamping onto the card front. The sentiment on vellum was stamped in Granny Apple Green & the holly was stamped in Crushed Curry, then both heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I coloured the holly using Blender Pens & the ink pads on the back of the vellum.
Now for the cute mini Takeout Treat box…
This new Takeout Treat Thinlits set is awesome! It makes the cutest little box so quickly & has become a fast favourite of mine. It’s small but packs a punch – it has 10 Hershey’s kisses in there, a good amount for a gift.
I wanted to keep the decoration simple as my theme for these projects were clean and simple. The little tag was quick and easy to create too, stamped on Whisper White then backed with tags in Granny Apple Green & Crushed Curry.
Let’s have a closer look at the tag…
The gold Mini Sequin Trim and Library Clip add that touch of elegance to the tag. I decided to keep the box closed with the library clip instead of crossing the flaps. The tag & sequin trim are tied to the library clip with the Whisper White Baker’s Twine.
You can see the sparkle from the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint I sprayed all over the box. Can you tell I’m a bit addicted to Shimmer Paint? Haha 😂
I hope you enjoyed my projects & they’ve inspired you to give this colour combination a try & create something fabulous! I’d love to see your creations in the comments 😊
