Global Stampers Jan 2018: Occasions Catalogue 2018

Happy New Year!

Global Stampers Banner

I trust you all had a lovely Christmas & New Year’s celebrations with your family & friends. Today I have for you some projects for our first Global Stampers hop in 2018. We are all featuring our favourite product(s) from the latest Occasions Catalogue that went live earlier in the week.

I’m featuring products from the Petal Palette suite…

I am loving this suite so much right now! Florals are not normally my style but for some reason, this set just calls out to me. I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s being a mum of two girls who love all things floral or maybe it’s just me getting older hehe 😀

Either way, this suite is so gorgeous & versatile. Let’s take a closer look at each project.

First, let’s look at the calendar…

I created these for Ella’s (my 5 year old) teacher gifts for Christmas & they loved it. Here you also see the bird version I created for her male Principal (he received one with a Pool Party base instead). I love how even though the set is very floral oriented, there are still images that can be used for masculine projects.

Here are more photos of the calendar…

The background for the sentiment was created using the swiping technique on Glossy White cardstock. The flowers are heat embossed with white emboss powder on Shimmery White cardstock then watercoloured using reinkers & an aquapainter.

Next we have the floral card…

The Petal Passion Designer Series Paper (DSP) makes for an easy way to feature the spotlighting technique. One of the sheets feature large bold floral images & all you need to do is cut the DSP, choose one of the flowers to colour in & voila – instant focal piece!

I’ve also included another piece of DSP that I cut to show you that it doesn’t  have to be one big flower & you can use 2 smaller flowers instead. This DSP is also an easy way to practise blending with your Stampin’ Blends since there’s already shadowing in the image.

Here are some close ups of the Calypso Coral flower card…

This flower was coloured with Calypso Coral & Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. I also highlighted the flower by going over it with Wink of Stella. I’m pleased the photo captured the sparkle but it’s still so much more sparkly in real life  🙂

The floral diecut behind the sentiment is cut from the Petals & More Thinlits with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. The sentiment is stamped on Shimmery White cardstock. The ribbon is the new Whisper White 1/4″ Organza ribbon which I coloured with the light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend.

Last but definitely not the least, is the Foliage note card…

I wanted to show the versatility of this set so I thought this card would be more gender neutral. You can easily change up the colours to suit the recipient of the card. This is also a fairly quick & easy card to mass produce.

The leaf charm from the Petal Passion Embellishments add a small touch of elegance. I also added a couple of the small circle Clear Epoxy Shapes to add subtle texture.

I hope you enjoyed these projects today & they’ve inspired you to create with this lovely floral suite.
